Privacy Policy
beavr (https://beavrxyz.netlify.app) is a small collection of browser-only tools. This page explains what data is collected when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. We aim for plain English: if anything is unclear, the section is wrong, not you.
The short version
- The tools run entirely in your browser. The content you paste in is processed by JavaScript on your device and is not uploaded.
- We do not run our own analytics, do not set tracking cookies, and do not fingerprint visitors.
- We do display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you will see a consent banner on your first visit asking you to accept or reject advertising cookies before any ad is loaded.
1. Data we collect directly
None. The site has no login, no comments, no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, and no first-party analytics. We do not log the contents of any tool input — we cannot, because those inputs are processed entirely client-side.
Our hosting provider (the platform that serves this site's files) records standard HTTP request logs. Those logs include your IP address, user-agent string, referrer, and the URL requested. They are kept for a short operational window (typically up to 30 days) and are used only for debugging, traffic measurement, and abuse prevention. They are not sold or shared with third parties.
2. Cookies and local storage
This site sets exactly one value in your browser's
localStorage: a theme preference (light or dark). It
is not transmitted to any server and contains no personal data.
You can clear it from your browser's developer tools at any time.
The site itself does not set any cookies. Third parties listed below may set their own cookies when you interact with their embeds — see section 4 for what those are and how to control them.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. AdSense is Google's advertising programme for independent sites. When you load a page that contains ad slots, Google may use information about your visits to this site and other sites to provide advertisements about goods and services that may interest you.
Information used for this purpose includes:
- Your IP address.
- The type of browser and device you are using.
- Language and general location (country / region level).
- The pages of this site you visit and how long you spend on them.
- The search terms you used to reach the site (from your referrer).
- Cookies or advertising IDs Google has previously associated with your browser.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of certain third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, this site uses a Consent Management Platform (CMP) that asks you to accept or reject advertising cookies before any ad is loaded. Non-personalised ads are served if you reject. You can change your choice at any time from the link in the footer labelled "Privacy & cookies".
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies places it in the category of "advertising" under Google's own EU user consent policy.
Standard ad slots do not include any input you have typed into any tool on this site. We do not pass your tool inputs to any ad network, ever.
4. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or such higher age as your jurisdiction requires for the lawful processing of personal data). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please use the contact method in section 7 and we will delete the relevant record within 30 days.
5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA / similar)
Because beavr does not maintain user accounts and does not collect personal data directly, there is no profile to delete and no export to request. The data that does exist about your visit — server logs, advertising cookies — is held by our hosting provider and Google respectively. To exercise your rights over that data:
- For advertising data, use the opt-out links in section 3.
- For server logs, the data is purged automatically within the retention window above; no record is associated with your identity beyond that.
- For local theme preference, clear it from your browser.
California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. beavr does not sell personal information. The sharing of pseudonymous identifiers with Google for advertising is treated as a "sale" under California law; you may opt out via Google's Ads Settings or by rejecting advertising cookies through the consent banner.
6. International transfers
This site is served from a global CDN. The advertising cookies described in section 3 may involve the transfer of pseudonymous identifiers to Google LLC in the United States. Google adheres to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the UK Extension thereto, which the European Commission and the UK government consider adequate for personal data transfers.
7. Contact
Questions, concerns, or requests about this policy can be sent through the contact form linked from the home page. We do not publish a direct email address on this site; the contact form is the official channel for all privacy and legal correspondence and is monitored.
Operator: Marcello. Country of operation: IT.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where the change is significant (for example, adding a new category of third-party data collection), we will also surface a notice on the home page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after the notice period indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
